It requires good quality tea to make good tea extracts. We are pleased to have 20+ year relationships with specialty tea traders and estates from around the globe. That supply combined with our on site tea blenders are key to quality liquid teas.
The time from plucking or picking the tea leaf until the time it is fired includes a period of oxidation. After harvest the tea is brought into the process area, the leaf is handled either by hand or machine to partially or fully break the cell structure and begin the oxidation process / time. The process for each tea varies greatly according to region and the crop being processed.
The teas are handled, some rolled, some broken and some left whole during this process until the tea is fired. That firing stop the enzyme activity and giving the tea leaf that signature profile and character only that particular crop brews in each cup.
All of the tea brewed at Beverage House undergoes a stringent selection and grading process followed by ongoing quality control procedures to ensure quality and consistency. See a cuppingsession at Beverage House.
